Helical enters MCC Agreement with TELoIP-NY
2005-04-22 09:00 ET - News Release

Helical Corp. Inc. has entered into a reseller and licensing agreement with Agnicorp Inc. and its master distributor, TELoIP-NY Inc., to distribute Agnicorp's IP technology products and services and further to appoint Helical as a member of the MPoIP Carriers Consortium (MCC) for distribution of TELoIP-NY's MPoIP layered Internet services throughout North America.

Under the agreement, Helical will purchase, install and maintain its initial TELoIP-NY Internet point of presence (POP) in Atlantic Canada. Helical intends to have the initial TELoIP-NY facility fully operational by June 30, 2005.

This Internet service provider (ISP) facility will allow Helical to provide enhanced Internet services with higher speed and additional reach capacity at a lower cost to business and enterprise users throughout Atlantic Canada, Quebec and northeastern United States. The agreement further allows for Helical to position POPs in other geographic areas of Canada and the U.S. and market the services delivered directly from Helical-managed POPs and from POPs managed by other members of the MCC.

Agnicorp's leading-edge Internet protocol technology supports data compression and bonding of mixed and multiple DSL, cable, wireless and dial-up Internet connections, producing a hybrid solution addressing today's growing "need for speed" and addressing remote-and-rural high-speed requirements with high availability. Agnicorp's convergence gateways combine all the features of Internet bonding and high availability, IP router, stateful firewall, VPN concentrator, IPQOS device, networking intrusion detection system, wireless access point, and wireless hot spot into a single compact, all in one device. Customers will benefit from decreased costs in network infrastructure, management and operations through the use of Agnicorp's convergence gateways to consolidate their application budgets
TELoIP-NY's bonded and high-availability Internet services, coupled with Agnicorp's convergence gateway technology, increase Internet access speeds and reach delivering considerable cost savings over existing services at higher speeds.

"The Agnicorp distributorship, combined with the launch of the TELoIP-NY service facility, is a major step forward in Helical's strategic plan to become a leading provider of fully managed network and business service to the small and medium enterprise marketplace throughout North America," stated Tim Adams, Helical vice-president of business development. "Helical will initially provide network and value-added services, including business Internet, remote access services and managed security facilitated by the high-speed, highly secure MPoIP network. Helical plans to add voice, video and hosting services to their service offerings later in 2005."

"We are excited to work with Helical and their U.S.-based subsidiary, EIT Inc., to distribute our product portfolio throughout North America. EIT offers a wide variety of communications solutions to service providers and their customers who are looking for competitive advantages in the rapidly evolving market and we are most pleased to work with Helical and EIT to establish the initial TELoIP-NY POPs in Atlantic Canada and the southeastern United States," said Pat Saavedra, president and chief technology officer of Agnicorp.
